EPC Transmission Line Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create overhead and underground transmission systems for utility and developer clients.

• Utilize PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER for modeling and analyzing transmission structures.

• Implement standards such as NESC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE, and other relevant guidelines.

• Assist in projects from initial routing and engineering analysis to procurement, construction-ready documentation, as-built records, and project closure.

• Work collaboratively with designers, engineers, and project management teams.

• Engage in client-facing project tasks.

• Conduct structure spotting and transmission line design using PLS-CADD.

• Design and analyze transmission structures made from steel, wood, concrete, and fiberglass through PLS-POLE.

• Execute underbuild, joint-use, and attachment analyses.

• Perform foundation design or analysis utilizing MFAD or LPILE.

• Develop construction packages, which include design basis, plans and profiles, staking sheets, bills of materials, structure data sheets, alignment maps, stringing charts, steel packages, and foundation drawings.

• Collaborate with construction leads regarding material procurement, specifications, and constructability assessments.

• Carry out conductor selection and electromagnetic field (EMF) studies.

• Participate in field inspections and constructability evaluations as necessary.

• Assist with proposal development and estimation processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

• Over 2 years of pertinent experience in electric utility transmission line design.

• Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to work autonomously while remaining connected to the team.

• Candidates must reside in the United States.

• Preferred: Experience with TOWER.

• Preferred: EIT certification or currently in pursuit of it.

• Preferred: Familiarity with FAD, Mathcad, AutoCAD or MicroStation, LPILE, or GIS tools.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Bentley ProjectWise.
