Environmental Scientist, Industrial Hygienist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conduct assessments for asbestos, lead-based paint (LBP), and microbial/moisture intrusion, along with overseeing abatement activities, with an estimated 50/50 division between field and office tasks.

• Perform safety and compliance evaluations in accordance with regulatory guidelines and client specifications.

• Assist in additional environmental services through cross-training, which includes:

• Exposure assessments

• Workplace safety evaluations

• Stormwater compliance inspections

• Soil and groundwater sampling

• Noise and air monitoring

• Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) inspections

• Implement work in accordance with project work plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and guidance from project managers.

• Oversee scheduling and logistics throughout all project stages, from coordination and field activities to reporting.

• Develop clear, precise, and technically sound reports ready for clients, utilizing project-specific templates.

• Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate project delivery and ongoing professional growth.

• Maintain and actively seek relevant certifications, including 40-Hour HAZWOPER, CAC, and/or CSST.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of professional experience in conducting asbestos surveys and mold/moisture intrusion inspections as an AHERA-accredited inspector (in any state).

• Valid AHERA certification is mandatory.

• California Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) and/or Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
