This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a corporate expert in air quality compliance, offering technical support to manufacturing sites and leadership.

• Create, execute, and uphold strategies and programs for air quality compliance.

• Analyze and communicate air quality laws and regulations throughout global operations.

• Assist with air permitting processes, which include new permits, renewals, modifications, amendments, and assessing regulatory applicability.

• Provide advice on source classification, emissions limits, monitoring, testing, and compliance demonstrations.

• Review calculations of air emissions, inventories, reporting, recordkeeping, and compliance certifications.

• Assess and implement air pollution control technologies and operational controls.

• Perform environmental compliance evaluations and audits.

• Investigate and address compliance issues, regulatory inquiries, notices of violation, exceedances, and potential noncompliance.

• Lead or assist with investigations of incidents and compliance events, root cause analyses, and corrective measures.

• Develop corporate environmental standards, processes, tools, guidance, and training.

• Create systems to enhance consistency and visibility of air compliance obligations.

• Assist with environmental projects that involve new equipment, process adjustments, expansions, and capital initiatives.

• Work in collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and site EHS teams regarding environmental impacts and compliance obligations.

• Keep track of emerging regulations and industry trends, communicating their business implications and necessary actions.

• Identify, develop, and monitor air quality compliance metrics and leading indicators.

• Contribute to Arclin’s Journey to Zero by promoting continuous improvement and risk mitigation.

• Offer technical support and mentorship to site EHS professionals.

• Engage in cross-functional and global environmental initiatives.

• Report to the Global Director of Environmental, providing leadership through technical expertise, collaboration, and influence without having direct reports.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related STEM field.

• Over 7 years of experience in environmental engineering, air quality compliance, and/or environmental permitting in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

• In-depth understanding of air quality regulations, permitting requirements, emissions calculations, and compliance management.

• Experience in supporting sophisticated air permitting and regulatory compliance programs, including reviewing air dispersion modeling and related regulatory standards.

• Familiarity with air emissions inventories, emissions calculations, compliance reporting, and regulatory recordkeeping.

• Knowledge of air pollution control equipment and technologies.

• Experience working across various facilities, jurisdictions, or regulatory frameworks is preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing abilities.

• Detail-oriented with the capability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.

• Ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with plant leadership, EHS professionals, production supervisors, operators, maintenance staff, and engineering teams.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate action without direct authority.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

• Experience with PSM/RMP-regulated facilities is preferred.

• Experience supporting Title V facilities and permitting activities related to NESHAP, NSPS, emissions inventories, and regulatory applicability assessments.

• Familiarity with ISO14001 is preferred.

• Willingness to travel approximately 50%, including both domestic and international travel, as required by business needs.

• Must be available to provide technical support for environmental incidents or urgent compliance issues outside of regular business hours, as needed.

• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

• Capability to stand for extended periods and occasionally bend, crouch, stoop, rotate, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
