Entrepreneur in Residence – Technical Co-founder, CTO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical vision for the venture and oversee its implementation.

• Take ownership of problem framing, architecture, system design, and product judgment from the outset, converting vague product aspirations into structured, contextual specifications that can be executed by both humans and AI systems.

• Leverage modern tools and cutting-edge models to accelerate progress without compromising on quality or maintainability, designing autonomous systems through first-principles thinking and discerning when orchestration provides true leverage compared to opting for simplicity.

• Act as the main technical representative during initial customer discussions, grasping real workflows and guiding the development of the appropriate product rather than merely focusing on rapid delivery.

• Validate the existence of scalable opportunities before contemplating scalability, prioritizing traction before team expansion.

• Participate in fundraising efforts, engaging in investor discussions and due diligence processes.

• Hire and nurture a technical team at the appropriate time, laying the cultural groundwork for the company.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in delivering AI products to actual users within real-world limitations — avoiding research, experiments, or prototypes.

• Extensive hands-on experience with cutting-edge models, LLM-based systems, and autonomous architectures, coupled with robust system design instincts and a preference for simplicity and maintainability.

• Strong skills in translating complex product intentions into clear structures, constraints, and specifications that are actionable by both human and AI systems.

• Proximity to the customer, comfortable in engaging conversations, and capable of allowing genuine workflows to influence your development process.

• Committed to rigorous verification — establishing feedback loops, evaluations, and reliable systems.

• Previous experience as a technical co-founder or an early engineering leader; experience with fundraising is a significant advantage.
