Enterprise Software Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Migration and modernization of current application components (JavaEE/JakartaEE) to a forward-looking architecture

• Ongoing development and enhancement of legacy systems with an emphasis on stability, maintainability, and scalability

• Design and execution of robust REST APIs, including version control and ensuring backward compatibility

• Execution of zero-downtime deployments in a highly available 24/7 environment

• Integration and further development of existing CI/CD, deployment, and monitoring processes

• Close collaboration within a small, knowledgeable team and independent delivery of technical solutions

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in migrating monolithic applications to contemporary, containerized architectures (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Strong understanding of Enterprise Java technologies (JavaEE/JakartaEE)

• Experience in API design and familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools

• Practical experience in monitoring and observability (e.g., Grafana, Splunk, ArgoCD)

• Strong database skills and experience with data migration

• Independent, organized, and pragmatic work style with a strong hands-on mentality

• Clear, audience-appropriate communication, particularly on complex technical subjects (e.g., migration strategies or API modifications)

• Proficient in the German language, both written and spoken
