This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Act as the primary instructor and teacher of record for English grades 9-12.
• Diligently strive to achieve all objectives related to student success and school culture, as well as state-specific academic accountability standards.
• Facilitate highly effective live lessons through web conferencing tailored to student needs, grounded in research-based instructional practices.
• Set up each course within the Learning Management System effectively.
• Oversee student progress in asynchronous courses and provide daily feedback and grading for assignments.
• Maintain regular contact and track communication with each student.
• Collaborate with the Principal to generate and deliver Progress Reports for Students.
• Frequently review student-level data to guide necessary adjustments in the instructional program.
• Differentiate instruction to cater to the diverse needs of all students.
• Apply research-based best practices in both synchronous and asynchronous teaching.
• Foster a joyful, caring, and nurturing classroom atmosphere for every student.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching methodologies into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Enforce school-wide cultural expectations and norms within the classroom and beyond.
• Communicate regularly with families about their child's academic and social-emotional development.
• Embed 21st-century technology skills into daily classroom activities and team collaborations.
• Engage in the planning and execution of non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips, and attend these events in person.
• Collaborate and communicate with all colleagues in an effective, humble, and respectful manner.
• Travel annually to support required face-to-face state testing.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Valid Ohio teaching license in the relevant content area.
• Familiarity with State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• A minimum of two years' teaching experience is preferred.
• Strong comfort level in a growth-oriented coaching environment that emphasizes frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook.
• Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
• Capability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
• Ability to supervise students across all school environments.
• Must successfully pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting is preferred.
