English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students in essential English skills to foster a deep understanding of subjects and achieve top scores on college readiness assessments (ACT & SAT).

• Monitor your students' progress as they advance through Vanguard’s distinctive multi-phase curriculum, providing personalized growth and improvement opportunities throughout their journey.

• Demonstrate professionalism and excellent organizational abilities by responding to students promptly, keeping student lesson schedules updated on our online platform, and ensuring students are accountable for their assignments.

• Lead the creation and innovative implementation of continuously evolving lesson plans and curricula.

• Guide middle and high school students with compassion and a deep awareness that the college application process is becoming more competitive and stressful.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or higher in a humanities discipline (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.) is required (Master’s degree or higher is preferred).

• At least one year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• A GPA of 3.5 or above.

• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.

• Access to a stable internet connection and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions.
