This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Overseeing a small product team consisting of 3-5 engineers (both backend and frontend).
• Allocating 30% of time to management tasks while actively engaging in product development with the team.
• Participating in the hiring process for their own team and potentially assisting colleagues.
• In addition to hiring, taking charge of the onboarding process for new engineers.
• Acting as the representative for the team, expected to manage team dynamics and enhance performance.
• Providing ongoing and constructive feedback on various aspects.
• Facilitating continuous growth for the team as a unit and being accountable for each direct report's career development.
• Offering guidance and coaching to team members.
• Redesigning the engineering workflow to utilize autonomous agents as the primary execution layer.
• Proposing and implementing agentic workflows from end-to-end (specification → planning → execution → verification) to accelerate delivery of outcomes.
• Developing reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase for teams to utilize across various domains.
• Employing verification loops (tests, checks, evaluations, guardrails) to ensure that results are accurate, secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Experience managing an engineering team of a minimum of 2 individuals.
• Significant expertise in Frontend (React, JS, ES6, and Jest) or Backend (Elixir/Phoenix).
• Dedication to upholding all of Remote's values within the team and the broader organization.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with a proven history of delivering secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
• Practical experience in designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows (or similar systems) and enhancing them through iterative improvements.
• Capability to think systemically: clearly define specifications, break down plans, implement verification, and ensure quality control.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of engineering and development principles and best practices.
• Proven organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Commitment to efficient processes while maintaining a kind, people-first approach.
