This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.
• Overseeing a small product team comprising 3-5 engineers (both backend and frontend).
• Allocating 30% of the time to management duties while actively engaging in product development with the team.
• Participating in the hiring process for the team and potentially assisting colleagues with their hiring needs.
• Responsible for the onboarding process of new engineers in addition to involvement in hiring.
• Acting as the representative for the team, expected to manage team dynamics and maximize their potential.
• Providing ongoing and constructive feedback on various aspects.
• Assisting the team in continuous growth as a unit and taking responsibility for each direct report’s career development.
• Offering guidance and coaching to the team.
• Redesigning how engineering work is executed with autonomous agents as the default approach.
• Proposing and operationalizing end-to-end agentic workflows (spec → plan → execute → verify) to enhance outcome delivery speed.
• Developing reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase for teams to apply consistently across various domains.
• Implementing verification loops (tests, checks, evaluations, guardrails) to ensure results are accurate, secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 individuals.
• Extensive background in Backend development (Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming).
• Dedication to upholding all of Remote's values within the team and the broader organization.
• Strong engineering principles and a proven record of delivering production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Practical experience in designing or implementing agentic/automation workflows (or similar systems) and enhancing them through iteration.
• Ability to think systematically: clearly define specifications, break down plans, implement verification, and ensure quality assurance.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong understanding of engineering and development principles and best practices.
• Proven organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Focused on creating efficient processes with a compassionate, people-first approach.

• Good understanding of team dynamics.
