Engineering Supervisor – Metering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with various corporate business units, including sales, marketing, account management, and project management.

• Oversee and lead all technical activities throughout the proposal, design, construction, and commissioning phases of assigned metering/CAISO projects.

• Provide oversight for metering/CAISO projects, managing technical scope per technical contracts, developing change orders, and maintaining project timelines.

• Direct and coordinate the activities of multiple disciplines and Project Management teams on projects of significant scale or a combination of large projects.

• Uphold high standards of quality and responsiveness to satisfy both internal and external client needs in accordance with company standards.

• Supervise design activities conducted by team members.

• Responsible for reviewing project drawings, calculations, and specifications, assuming responsible charge as necessary.

• Offer strategic direction, leadership, and technical services oversight to employees to meet individual, team, department, and organizational performance objectives.

• Mentor, train, and develop technical staff to foster growth and development opportunities.

• Assist proposal efforts by generating resources and reviewing proposals in collaboration with the Proposal Development Team and Project Management group.

• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with CAISO and clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• 4+ years of experience in the metering field is preferred; candidates with demonstrated hands-on experience and transferable skills are welcome.

• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred.

• Familiarity with CAISO metering and inspection, RIG, and NRI procedures is preferred.

• Must possess strong analytical abilities, be self-motivated, and able to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and collaborative demeanor.

• Committed to internal engagement and dedicated to maximizing the development of others.

• Strong business acumen and industry expertise are essential.

• Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills with the capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, the public, and external agencies.

• High level of initiative and proven ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and deadlines.

• Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills are preferred.

• Demonstrates a proactive approach, exploring new opportunities while assessing risks to the organization.

• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), along with additional software knowledge based on specialty.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards.

• Must have authorization to work permanently in the US.

• Willingness to travel up to 15% of the year.
