Engineering Manager – Tech Lead, Trading Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Korea.

📋 Description

• Lead architectural choices and design scalable, resilient systems while providing strong technical leadership in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.

• Act as the main technical liaison with regulatory agencies; respond to regulatory inquiries, ensure compliance with frameworks, and convert regulatory requirements into technical roadmaps.

• Oversee delivery commitments, enhance incident readiness, and guarantee operational excellence across various teams and products.

• Cultivate trustworthy relationships with external stakeholders (regulators, clients, partners); effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and serve as a reliable advisor.

• Collaborate with Product, Business, and Compliance teams to tackle complex challenges, shape product strategy, and align on critical initiatives.

• Promote continuous enhancements in code quality, system reliability, and team capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software product engineering, ideally within cloud computing, SaaS, fintech, regulated sectors, or eCommerce; at least 3 years in leadership roles for engineering teams.

• Proficient hands-on technical expertise in backend, infrastructure, or full-stack engineering with significant experience in modern technology stacks (Java/Spring Boot, microservices, AWS, Kafka, MySQL, etc.).

• Proven experience in regulated industries or with compliance frameworks; capable of understanding and translating regulatory requirements into technical solutions.

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities; comfortable interacting with executives, regulators, non-technical partners, and cross-functional teams.

• Demonstrated capability to mentor, coach, and nurture high-performing engineers; history of scaling teams and fostering strong engineering cultures.

• Significant experience in designing scalable systems, managing cloud infrastructure costs, and leading large-scale technical projects from concept through to production.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience); familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and contemporary development practices.

• **Bilingual in English and Korean** is essential for effective coordination with overseas partners and stakeholders.
