Engineering Manager – Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead a backend engineering team focused on developing the SSCS Add-On, which includes dependency enforcement, build provenance, malicious package detection, and artifact signing.

• Oversee Drive engineering delivery for general availability milestones by coordinating sequencing, scope, and dependencies with the Staff Backend Engineer and Product Manager.

• Foster team growth by collaborating with Talent Acquisition on sourcing, interview design, candidate evaluation, and hiring decisions.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development discussions to facilitate growth and establish clear expectations.

• Enhance engineering quality by tracking cycle time, defect rates, and test coverage, while proactively addressing risks.

• Organize quarterly planning and roadmap trade-off discussions with SSCS stage leadership and Product.

• Collaborate with Finance and other stakeholders on headcount pacing and team planning as the Add-On grows.

• Serve as the representative for the SSCS Add-On team in stage leadership discussions, ensuring effective communication across various functions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in guiding backend product engineering teams within security, DevSecOps, or platform engineering environments.

• Capability to hire and nurture backend or security engineers in distributed team settings, with a solid understanding of the talent landscape for these positions.

• Technical expertise to engage in architecture discussions regarding package registries, CI/CD pipeline security, and signing infrastructure.

• Experience in managing consistent delivery across multi-quarter product roadmaps and handling cross-team dependencies.

• Comfort in an asynchronous, documentation-driven organization with a focus on clear written communication.

• Knowledge of supply chain security, artifact management, or compliance-oriented product areas, or relevant experience from related fields.

• Familiarity with concepts associated with frameworks and ecosystems like SLSA and Sigstore.

• Ability to establish credibility with engineers, product partners, and customer-facing stakeholders through sound judgment, coaching, and teamwork.
