This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Lead a cross-functional engineering team by establishing direction, facilitating delivery, and guaranteeing the team produces reliable solutions that address genuine operational challenges.
• Take ownership of team outcomes, ensuring your squad consistently delivers significant work while upholding strong engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers through coaching and constructive feedback, aiding in their technical and product development.
• Promote delivery discipline by ensuring the team effectively prioritizes tasks, manages scope, and reliably completes work.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Data, Design, and Customer teams to develop solutions that balance accuracy, usability, and speed of delivery.
• Remain engaged with the technical aspects, directing architecture, reviewing code, and assisting engineers in overcoming obstacles when necessary.
• Cultivate a robust, high-performing team culture characterized by clear expectations, strong communication, and accountability.
• Your team will tackle complex challenges, such as designing Nory’s external API (OpenAPI) and launching the initial endpoints for customers and partners. This initiative will transition integrations from bespoke, high-touch operations to a scalable platform, facilitating quicker onboarding and ensuring high-quality data for Nory’s AI tools.
• Engineering leadership: You have led an engineering squad and take responsibility for team outcomes, health, and delivery. You recognize that success is determined by the team's collective achievements.
• Coaching and people development: You conduct structured 1:1s, provide clear feedback, and assist engineers in enhancing their technical and product skills.
• Product-focused delivery: You have successfully delivered significant initiatives within a cross-functional team (Engineering, Product, Design, Data), resulting in measurable customer or commercial benefits.
• Strong product judgement: You collaborate closely with Product to define scope, make pragmatic trade-offs, and maintain the team's focus on impact rather than mere output.
• Technical credibility: You are an experienced engineer capable of guiding architectural decisions, reviewing work, and helping the team overcome challenges as needed.
• Systems thinking: You think critically about scale, reliability, data flow, and long-term maintainability as the product evolves.
• Clear communication: You bring structure to complex discussions and foster alignment among engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
• Nice to have: Experience in building financial or inventory systems of record. Familiarity with high-integrity operational or accounting data. Exposure to automation, AI-assisted workflows, or ML-driven decision systems. Experience supporting enterprise customers with audit or compliance requirements.
