This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Oversee and expand a distributed engineering team, conducting regular one-on-ones, offering continuous feedback, and assisting in individual performance and career growth.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering leadership to define the roadmap, strategy, and OKRs for the Usage squad, ensuring alignment with the overarching company mission and customer impact.
• Lead the team through the entire project lifecycle, from initial technical design and scoping to delivery and post-launch iterations, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes within the Usage domain (e.g., billing engine, cost management and billing application, reconciliation systems).
• Serve as a project manager, promoting teamwork with Product, DealOps, GTM, Pricing and Monetization, Support, and adjacent AppCore squads to eliminate obstacles and ensure coordinated delivery across service boundaries.
• Cultivate a high-trust, security-first team culture that embraces thoughtful AI-assisted development practices to enhance engineering workflows and reduce manual effort.
• Participate in hiring and talent acquisition initiatives, collaborating with People Ops to attract and retain a diverse group of engineers.
• At least 2 years of experience managing software engineering teams.
• Prior experience as an Individual Contributor (IC) in a related engineering role for a minimum of 3 years.
• A robust software engineering background, preferably with experience in backend systems (such as Go), enabling credible engagement in technical design discussions and fostering strong decision-making within the team.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems principles, encompassing scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and observability.
• Proven capability to manage delivery across multiple concurrent projects, align stakeholders with competing priorities, and effectively communicate risks and timelines.
• Comfortable collaborating with engineering teams that possess a strong sense of autonomy in their decision-making processes.
• Highly customer-oriented, consistently grounding technical decisions in tangible user and business impacts.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools and an eagerness to integrate AI-powered solutions into a team's workflow.
