This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Lead and manage four teams (Java, JavaScript/Go, Python, PHP) comprised of approximately 18 engineers.
• Foster a culture centered on technical excellence, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
• Create hiring strategies, perform performance evaluations, and promote career advancement for your team members.
• Oversee the onboarding and integration of new team members, projects, and libraries into the team's scope.
• Establish and uphold standards for CVE analysis, vulnerability assessments, patch backporting, and security release processes across all language ecosystems.
• Ensure uniformity in tools and workflows across teams (CI/CD pipelines, patch delivery, release procedures).
• Assess and direct AI-assisted automation for backporting and vulnerability detection.
• Act as the ultimate technical escalation point for intricate or cross-team security challenges.
• Take ownership of SLA compliance across all language platforms.
• Align team initiatives with client expectations and delivery obligations.
• Organize and continually refine development workflows and engineering practices.
• Coordinate internal documentation and ensure it accurately reflects the current status of each project.
• Facilitate seamless collaboration between language teams and OS, Docker, and platform teams.
• Manage scope boundaries and overlaps with OS and platform teams, particularly concerning shared dependencies and cross-ecosystem vulnerabilities.
• Strong foundation in software development across various language ecosystems — a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles (Team Lead or Engineering Manager) within a product-oriented company.
• Demonstrated experience with technical delivery and accountability for team outcomes.
• Solid working knowledge of at least 3 of the 5 languages your teams cover: Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, PHP.
• Practical experience with security research or vulnerability analysis: CVE triage, patch backporting, or similar activities.
• Ability to effectively collaborate in distributed teams and within larger organizational frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills — adept at engaging with stakeholders and meeting external delivery expectations.
• Experience in building or enhancing engineering processes from the ground up.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and dependency management tools (Maven/Gradle, npm, pip, Go modules).
• Upper-intermediate or higher proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
