This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, establishing direction, facilitating delivery, and ensuring the group produces reliable solutions that address genuine operational challenges.
• Take ownership of team results, guaranteeing that your squad consistently delivers meaningful work while upholding high engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers through coaching and constructive feedback, assisting them in enhancing their technical and product skills.
• Promote delivery discipline, making sure the team prioritizes effectively, manages project scope, and consistently completes tasks.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Data, Design, and Customer teams to create innovative AI solutions in a practical context.
• Stay engaged with the technical aspects of the work, guiding architecture, reviewing code, and assisting engineers in overcoming obstacles as necessary.
• Cultivate a healthy, high-performing team culture with clear expectations, robust communication, and accountability.
• Engineering leadership: You have experience leading an engineering team and take responsibility for team outcomes, overall health, and delivery. You recognize that success is defined by the collective achievements of the team.
• Coaching and people development: You conduct structured one-on-ones, provide clear feedback, and support engineers in enhancing their technical and product capabilities.
• Product-focused delivery: You have successfully executed significant initiatives within a cross-functional team (Engineering, Product, Design, Data), yielding measurable customer or business results.
• Strong product judgment: You work closely with the Product team to define project scope, make practical trade-offs, and maintain the team's focus on impact rather than mere output.
• Technical credibility: You are an experienced engineer capable of guiding architectural choices, reviewing work, and helping to remove barriers for the team when necessary.
• Systems thinking: You think critically about scale, reliability, data flow, and long-term maintainability as the product evolves.
• Clear communication: You provide structure to complex discussions and foster alignment between engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
• Remote-first environment - You must have the right to work in the UK or EU to be considered for this role.
