Engineering Manager – Geo, API Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Mentor and coach engineers to foster their technical skills, ownership, and career advancement.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering leadership to assess, plan, and implement API-first projects across advertising systems, services, and features.

• Promote transparency and alignment through comprehensive documentation, structured processes, and effective cross-functional communication.

• Enhance agile methodologies and continuously elevate the team's delivery predictability and maturity.

• Set a benchmark by writing production-ready backend code (and supporting frontend code when necessary) and deploying through CI/CD on AWS.

• Provide support to engineers through regular one-on-ones, constructive feedback, quarterly reviews, recognition, time-off planning, training, and performance management as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in technology, including software development, architecture, or related fields.

• Extensive experience in designing and developing customer-facing applications using Python REST APIs and FastAPI.

• Proficient in Python, with experience in building services and data pipelines.

• Familiarity with GIS and the ingestion pipeline for POI/Location data.

• Ability to construct the necessary infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse data sources using SQL, GIS, and AWS 'big data' technologies.

• Strong expertise in AWS services such as S3, EC2, EMR, ECS, and Lambda.

• Solid SQL skills for analytics and troubleshooting purposes.

• Offer suggestions to enhance the Geo location platform.

• Experience with Airflow and Git.

• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI throughout the engineering process to facilitate modernization, improve developer productivity, and enhance software delivery results.

• Practical knowledge of AI-native engineering tools like Cursor, Claude, and GitHub Copilot, with the capacity to scale their use in a pragmatic, secure, and measurable manner.
