This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a team of software and data engineers with an AI-first approach at all times.
• Take ownership of the technical vision for SeatGeek’s essential financial systems, tools (both custom and SaaS), and integrations.
• Ensure that the financial automation stack accurately interfaces with the appropriate upstream tools and systems throughout the business, translating that information into our general ledger and billing systems.
• Quickly develop and refine tools to enhance the quality and speed of interactions with our finance data, leveraging strong cross-functional partnerships with the wider engineering organization.
• Uphold a high standard of accuracy, completeness, and operational excellence across the platform.
• Define and implement the future architecture that enables SeatGeek’s financial automation stack to thrive in a landscape increasingly shaped by agentic interactions and capabilities.
• Conduct code and architecture reviews, offering technical and design feedback to the team.
• Provide ongoing performance feedback, conduct one-on-ones, and support career development for your direct reports.
• Choose new technology vendors and collaborate with existing ones as necessary, consistently making build or buy decisions with your team.
• At times, engage directly in delivering features and iterating across the platform.
• Communicate technical and product decisions to relevant stakeholders, resolve blocking issues, and collaborate with other leaders within the organization.
• Actively participate in our recruiting efforts, assisting in the growth of our engineering team in any way possible.
• At least 5 years of experience as an engineer primarily focused on coding.
• A minimum of 3 years in an engineering management role leading productive, motivated teams.
• A proven history of guiding teams to deliver industry-leading UX that significantly enhances high-stakes customer experiences.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and processing transactional data at scale within a SOX-compliant environment.
• Successfully built and led lean teams, ensuring they are productive, motivated, and capable of achieving impactful outcomes.
• Ability to create safe, collaborative, and inclusive environments where engineers feel empowered to excel in their work.
• Comfortable operating without a predefined playbook—simultaneously defining architecture, team dynamics, and the project roadmap.
• Proficient in simplifying complex technical concepts to clearly communicate them to non-technical audiences, accurately portraying the team's work to a diverse array of stakeholders.
• Knowledgeable about the technology industry and financial tools and methods that assist your team in making sound tooling and framework decisions for success.
• Capable of leading by establishing context, facilitating collaboration, and gaining buy-in from cross-functional partners in product, design, engineering, and leadership.
• Previous experience as an Engineer, familiar with the challenges of that role, and ideally, hands-on experience with:
• Custom tools for automating financial operations and producing accurate and comprehensive financial reporting outputs.
• Extensive hands-on experience with transactional data and a solid understanding of finance and accounting principles.
