This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Take charge of the architecture and development of the data platform for large-scale, real-time, and batch data processing.
• Create systems for analytics, experimentation, event tracking, and usage measurement.
• Maintain high standards of scalability, reliability, performance, and data integrity.
• Promote best practices in data engineering, system architecture, and observability.
• Build, mentor, and guide a high-performing team of data and platform engineers.
• Cultivate a culture of ownership, innovation, and ongoing enhancement.
• Offer technical direction, career growth opportunities, and performance management.
• Collaborate closely with Product, AI, Growth, and Marketing teams to identify data requirements and convert them into scalable solutions.
• Facilitate data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
• Enhance the developer experience and usability of the data platform for internal teams.
• Establish and monitor platform KPIs such as adoption, reliability, and performance.
• Optimize infrastructure for cost-effectiveness and performance at scale.
• Continuously assess tools, technologies, and processes to enhance ROI.
• Support AI research with data, both for training purposes and capabilities.
• Over 7 years of experience in software/data engineering, with at least 2 years in engineering management.
• Strong technical expertise and architectural judgment.
• Significant experience in building and scaling data platforms or distributed systems.
• Practical experience with backend technologies such as Node.js and JavaScript ecosystems.
• Real-world experience with systems like Spark, streaming, and pipelines.
• Comprehensive understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern data stack tools.
• Proven ability to make architectural decisions and lead major technical projects.
• Excellent communication skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration across business teams.
