This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Take ownership of the architecture and development of the data platform to facilitate large-scale, real-time, and batch data processing.
• Design systems that cater to analytics, experimentation, event tracking, and usage metering.
• Maintain high standards for scalability, reliability, performance, and data quality.
• Promote best practices in data engineering, system design, and observability.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data and platform engineers.
• Cultivate a culture of ownership, innovation, and ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate closely with Product, AI, Growth, and Marketing teams to identify data requirements and convert them into scalable solutions.
• Facilitate data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
• Enhance the developer experience and the usability of the data platform for internal teams.
• Establish and monitor platform KPIs such as adoption, reliability, and performance.
• Optimize infrastructure for both cost efficiency and performance at scale.
• Regularly assess tools, technologies, and processes to enhance ROI.
• Support AI research with data, encompassing both training and capabilities.
• Over 7 years of experience in software/data engineering, including a minimum of 2 years in engineering management.
• Strong technical expertise and architectural judgment.
• Extensive experience in building and scaling data platforms or distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with backend technologies such as Node.js and JavaScript ecosystems.
• Practical experience with systems like Spark, streaming, and pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern data stack tools.
• Proven capability to make architectural trade-offs and lead large technical projects.
• Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating across various business teams.
