This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Lead two teams of 11 engineers focused on the Trust Center and Questionnaire products.
β’ Consistently deliver against a well-defined product roadmap in a sustainable manner.
β’ Establish a culture of high accountability and ownership by implementing weekly goal tracking, tech specification reviews, and ensuring proactive project visibility.
β’ Collaborate with product and design teams to prioritize roadmap initiatives, make trade-off decisions, and ensure that engineering perspectives are integral to the development process.
β’ Participate in technical decision-making, review specifications, engage in architectural discussions, and guide effective engineering choices.
β’ Attract, develop, and retain talented engineers, while also managing and enhancing the skills of senior individual contributors.
β’ Collaborate across functions with GTM, the AI Platform team, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities, remove obstacles, and deliver results for the business.
β’ Contribute to the engineering culture at Vanta by establishing scalable processes, norms, and practices.
β’ Oversee the roadmaps for automating inbound customer assessments and assist customers in transparently projecting trust to their clientele.
β’ Minimum of 2 years of full-time engineering management experience leading teams of 6β8 or more engineers.
β’ Proven history of managing high-execution teams with disciplined delivery practices, including tech spec reviews, weekly goal tracking, and robust timeline accountability.
β’ Experience in managing and enhancing the skills of senior individual contributors.
β’ Background in product engineering: experience in leading teams that develop customer-facing software, rather than focusing primarily on infrastructure or platform.
β’ Technically adept and comfortable participating in architectural discussions, able to critically assess specifications and make informed trade-off decisions.
β’ Demonstrated ability to influence product and long-term technical strategy in close collaboration with a Product Manager.
β’ Strong decision-making skills that balance ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality.
β’ Utilizes AI in daily tasks to enhance skills and improve outcomes, applying it across routine workflows while experimenting and exercising sound judgment to ensure high-quality AI-assisted work.
β’ Must have legal authorization to work in the location where this role is based.
