Engineering Manager – Code Plane

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Manage a small group of skilled individual contributors while also serving as a player-coach.

• Dedicate up to 50% of your time as an individual contributor.

• Offer practical technical guidance alongside responsibilities for people management, operations, and roadmap planning.

• Work collaboratively with Product, Design, Customer Engineering, and other engineering teams to transform customer challenges into delivered products.

• Supervise the team's roadmap and weekly tasks: plan and prioritize work across various product surfaces.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience managing a team of professional software engineers.

• A robust individual contributor background, with the capability to provide technical advice on architecture, code quality, and decision-making trade-offs.

• Demonstrated experience leading teams that develop end-user product features — preferably in areas such as developer tools, agent/AI products, CLIs, or other technical product surfaces.

• Experience collaborating closely with Product and Design to transition features from concept to delivery, while integrating customer feedback into the roadmap.

• Customer-facing experience including discovery calls, design partnerships, and embedding feedback loops into a roadmap.

• Experience in shipping products that are utilized by or developed for AI agents.

• Practical experience using and analyzing coding agents (such as Amp, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar).

• Proficient async-first communication skills and experience working within a globally distributed remote team.
