Engineering Manager – Cloud Computing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers specializing in compute and platform engineering.

• Drive the architectural vision for the compute platform, focusing on reliability, scalability, and enhancing developer experience.

• Actively participate in the design, implementation, and optimization of core compute services, including orchestration, provisioning, scaling, and runtimes.

• Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Security, and Backend teams to establish priorities and ensure seamless integrations.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance assessments, and provide technical coaching.

• Cultivate a culture of ownership, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement.

• Convert strategic goals into actionable plans and ensure timely execution.

• Influence the evolution of the platform through practical, forward-thinking technical decisions.

• Advocate for best practices across software development, automation, and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership or engineering management position.

• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch preferred).

• Extensive experience in building distributed backend systems using Golang.

• Demonstrated success in infrastructure, platform engineering, compute orchestration, reliability, and observability.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerization, and service mesh technologies such as Istio and Envoy.

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK.

• Understanding of CI/CD automation tools, including GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar.

• Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and best practices in monitoring and alerting.

• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of guiding performance, setting expectations, and motivating engineers.

• Solid technical judgment with the ability to balance hands-on coding with strategic and personnel responsibilities.
