Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead, guide, and oversee a team of software engineers, cultivating a culture of responsibility, innovation, and ongoing enhancement.

• Architect and develop scalable backend systems utilizing Java, ensuring optimal performance, dependability, and maintainability.

• Design and execute real-time data processing pipelines with Apache Flink, efficiently managing large-scale streaming data.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Promote engineering best practices, encompassing code quality, testing, CI/CD, and observability.

• Oversee project timelines, prioritize deliverables, and ensure timely execution while maintaining quality standards.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations, offer constructive feedback, and support the career development of team members.

• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in distributed systems and streaming applications.

• Stay informed about emerging technologies and assess their integration to enhance system capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–17 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 2–5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.

• Strong proficiency in Java, including multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.

• Practical experience with Apache Flink for developing real-time stream processing applications.

• Solid grasp of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and data streaming principles.

• Experience with big data technologies (such as Kafka, Hadoop, Spark) is highly advantageous.

• Expertise in designing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.

• Strong analytical skills and the capability to tackle complex technical challenges.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
