This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
• Take charge of the technical performance and reliability of the Booking and Checkout processes, which directly influence conversion rates, revenue, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure technical decisions are in line with business goals, prioritizing a premium user experience, high booking success rates, dependable payment processes, and operational efficiency.
• Play a role in roadmap prioritization by balancing business value, reducing technical debt, and enhancing platform scalability.
• Oversee and manage budgets within the engineering department, plan staffing needs, and control expenses while ensuring performance is maintained.
• Build and sustain relationships with essential stakeholders, including suppliers, manufacturers, and regulatory bodies.
• Spearhead the formulation and execution of ecommerce engineering strategies.
• Propel the evolution of the booking architecture towards scalable, resilient, and observable services.
• Guarantee high-quality API design to support Web and Mobile applications, facilitating swift and secure feature delivery.
• Advocate for engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, incident management, and security.
• Ensure the integrity of payment and booking confirmation processes, reducing failures, inconsistencies, and financial losses.
• Lead efforts to identify, prevent, and minimize booking errors and post-booking incidents.
• Enhance observability and alerting systems to swiftly pinpoint and resolve issues affecting customers.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of software engineers.
• Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
• Monitor team performance and facilitate learning and development in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Data Science, and Customer Experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of the ecommerce landscape, with a strong grasp of booking and checkout processes.
• Robust background in API-driven architectures.
• Comfortable working in high-reliability, revenue-critical environments.
• Familiarity with current and emerging engineering standards and principles.
• Ability to link technical decisions to strategic challenges.
• Proven experience in optimizing key ecommerce KPIs.
• Proficient in analyzing complex data sets related to booking errors and system performance.
• Exceptional leadership abilities, capable of motivating and guiding technical teams.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Capacity to build effective relationships with all stakeholders and adjust communication styles for diverse audiences.
