Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Oversee large-scale cross-team projects and guide them through to production.

• Participate in quarterly planning and the establishment of the roadmap.

• Evaluate feature designs to ensure compliance with non-functional requirements.

• Manage technical debt and handle incidents effectively.

• Recruit, assess, and inspire team members.

• Enhance cross-team and cross-functional collaboration to boost efficiency.

• Cultivate a results-focused and business-oriented culture.

• Track essential team performance metrics.

• Ensure process and delivery transparency for stakeholders and partner functions.

• Streamline processes to enhance productivity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of backend engineering experience, with a strong foundation in creating reliable, scalable systems (experience with Go is an advantage).

• At least 2 years of experience as an Engineering Manager, preferably in a dynamic fintech or e-commerce setting.

• Proven experience in developing scalable, distributed systems and managing high-load architectures.

• Strong knowledge of backend tools and technologies — our stack includes PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, GitLab, and a microservices architecture.

• Experience in integrating third-party APIs and contributing to product development.

• A commitment to writing clean, testable, and maintainable code.

• A proactive approach with the capability to work independently.

• Excellent communication skills in English.
