This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Technical and People Leadership: Lead an engineering team that fosters technical excellence, autonomy, and accountability, while nurturing engineers through ongoing feedback, mentorship, and development plans.
• Delivery and Product Impact: Ensure the reliable delivery of solutions that significantly influence products and business outcomes, striking a balance between speed, quality, reliability, and scalability.
• Software Architecture and Quality: Actively engage in architectural decision-making, establish technical standards, and guarantee that systems are robust, secure, and easily adaptable.
• Agile Planning and Execution: Facilitate the planning, prioritization, and execution of the team's tasks, eliminate obstacles, and maintain alignment with Product, Design, and other stakeholders.
• Engineering Excellence: Advocate for best practices such as code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and the continuous enhancement of code quality and system performance.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize engineering metrics (e.g., lead time, throughput, availability, quality) to inform technical and process-related decisions.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between engineering, product, and business departments, ensuring effective communication, strategic alignment, and a focus on customer needs.
• Platform Evolution: Contribute to the advancement of architecture and platform, supporting initiatives aimed at scalability, security, performance, and reliability.
• Recruitment and Team Building: Actively engage in attracting, selecting, and onboarding talent, contributing to the formation of diverse, technically proficient teams that align with company culture.
• Culture and Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, technical responsibility, and ownership.
• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related disciplines.
• Prior hands-on experience as a software developer, with practical experience in building, evolving, and maintaining production systems.
• Background in technical leadership and people development, having served as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or in a similar capacity.
• Demonstrated success in forming, developing, and scaling high-performance engineering teams, fostering autonomy, accountability, and technical excellence.
• Experience in agile, collaborative environments, closely collaborating with Product, Design, and other business sectors.
• Proven ability in making technical decisions, establishing architecture, and consistently overseeing code quality.
• Strong understanding of systems architecture, REST APIs, and integration patterns.
• Significant focus on engineering best practices such as code reviews, CI/CD, automated testing, and a DevOps culture.
• Practical experience with Go (Golang) or JavaScript.
• Knowledge of performance, observability, monitoring, and application optimization.
• Solid grasp of security, scalability, and high availability.
• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
