Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Taking responsibility for the technical choices made by your team, whether by making the decisions independently or by reviewing and approving the choices made by team members.

• Leading your team and project to achieve optimal results in a timely manner within a highly dynamic and agile environment.

• Developing your team members by assigning them progressively more challenging tasks and providing continuous coaching.

• Fostering a psychologically safe atmosphere throughout the organization, extending beyond your immediate team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three of the following:

• - Proficient in enhancing collaboration and operations through the implementation of engineering processes or tools.

• - Experienced in evaluating team members' performance in conjunction with executives and other managers, and determining their rewards, including annual bonuses.

• - Skilled in supporting team members through effective coaching and mentoring.

• - Experienced in establishing team priorities or project direction based on customer feedback and/or marketing data.

• - Proficient in writing technical blogs for public audiences or delivering public speeches to share insights and expertise.

• Experienced in managing an engineering team of more than five members.

• Proficient in coding with C#, C++, Java, or Rust.

• Business-level proficiency in English.

• A strong desire to cultivate a psychologically safe environment.

• Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas clearly to others.

• Preferred qualifications:

• - Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.

• - Ability to comprehend both the customer's and engineer's perspectives.

• - Fluency in Japanese.
