Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee a development team throughout the design, development, and delivery of features.

• Assess the technical choices made by the team to guarantee the quality of deliverables.

• Cultivate a high-performing team culture through effective leadership, collaboration, and talent development.

• Manage, mentor, and evaluate engineers' performance to enhance efficiency, promote professional growth, and drive team success.

• Collaborate with Product Management and engineering leaders to convert organizational objectives into technical direction for your teams.

• Partner with your Product Management counterpart to efficiently plan and supervise projects, managing team workload for consistent delivery and target achievement.

• Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership, ensuring transparency and realistic expectation management.

• Contribute to the organization’s technical strategy, ensuring that the team’s efforts align with the company’s goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to lead software engineering teams, including people management and technical delivery.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong understanding of OOP concepts and architectural patterns (Inversion of Control, Domain Driven Design, MVC, etc.).

• Familiarity with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines and tools, with the capability to automate build, test, and deployment processes.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.

• Proven capability to allocate team resources effectively, manage workloads, and coach high-performing individual contributors.

• Proficient in agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

• Experience in building loosely coupled applications using microservices and integration patterns.
