Engineering Manager – App Stores

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Oversee a remote team of engineers within your time zone.

• Foster talent development through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and practical career growth opportunities.

• Establish and maintain expectations with other engineering teams, management, and external stakeholders.

• Actively participate in the leadership team and collaborate with fellow leaders within the organization.

• Collaborate with your team to create clean web service APIs that support both CLI and web frontend clients, utilizing Python (and optionally Golang).

• Engage with various teams at Canonical, along with the open-source community and commercial partners.

• Significant experience in leading contemporary, agile software development practices.

• Proven ability to cultivate a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with the company values.

• Demonstrated experience serving as a role model for sound engineering principles and actively contributing to your team's objectives.

• Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events.

• Passion for mentoring, developing, and nurturing talent, with a proven track record.

• Strong knowledge and enthusiasm for software development.

• Results-oriented, with a focus on the timely delivery of high-quality software.

• Commitment to fostering a positive team culture and spirit.

• Experience and dedication to agile development methodologies.

• Proficient in software development using Python (experience in Golang is a significant advantage).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Practical experience in Linux system administration.
