Engineering Manager – AI Fleet Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team focused on creating AI-native backend systems that facilitate extensive, autonomous fleet modifications.

• Establish the technical vision for the integration of LLM-powered reasoning and agent-based execution within production infrastructure.

• Design systems where AI agents evaluate service metadata, formulate safe change plans, implement updates, and verify results.

• Set up safety boundaries, evaluation frameworks, and observability models for large-scale AI-driven automation.

• Promote responsible AI adoption by incorporating governance, auditability, and human-in-the-loop safeguards into system design.

• Balance swift experimentation with platform reliability, ensuring that intelligent automation adheres to production-grade standards.

• Collaborate with product and go-to-market teams to establish Portal and AI fleet management as a premier developer platform.

• Foster a team culture rooted in curiosity, technical rigor, and continuous learning regarding emerging AI systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess over 3 years of experience leading engineering teams focused on distributed systems or large-scale developer platforms.

• You have more than 5 years of backend engineering experience, with strong proficiency in Java, Python, and/or Node.js.

• You are experienced in integrating AI/ML systems, LLMs, agent frameworks, or AI-assisted tools into practical applications.

• You comprehend how autonomous systems make decisions and how to design safeguards that ensure safety, reliability, and traceability.

• You think systematically, considering data flows, model behavior, orchestration layers, and operational impacts.

• You are adept at leading in emerging technical fields where patterns are still developing.

• You cultivate inclusive environments where diverse perspectives enhance technical and product decisions.

• You communicate effectively with engineers, product leaders, and executives regarding both the opportunities and challenges posed by AI-driven systems.
