Engineering Lead – Fixed Term 12 Month Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Foster robust, trusting relationships with engineers from diverse time zones and cultural backgrounds.

• Facilitate effective one-on-one and team meetings, balancing facilitation with real-time note-taking and follow-up tasks.

• Establish and reinforce clear expectations for the engineering role, ensuring alignment, fairness, and transparency.

• Oversee the complete performance management cycle by guiding teams through development planning, monitoring, and discussing progress against objectives in a timely and constructive manner.

• Manage performance, identify challenges and issues, provide support, and conduct evaluations in accordance with company guidelines.

• Encourage and support individual growth and performance.

• Approach sensitive or challenging conversations with professionalism, emotional intelligence, and an open mind.

• Assist engineers in navigating conflicts, obstacles, and personal or professional challenges with empathy and discretion.

• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to maintain effective communication channels and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

• Guide the team through organizational changes, providing stability and maintaining morale during uncertain times.

• Sustain team engagement and productivity amidst change.

• Help cultivate and advocate for a culture of openness, accountability, and respect.

• Empathetic, open-minded, and dedicated to supporting individuals at all levels.

• Adaptable and resilient, capable of supporting changes and promoting learning.

• Experience in a tech or open-source environment is advantageous (but not mandatory).
