This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Perform statutory inspections of lifts, cranes, lifting equipment, materials handling equipment, and related plant across various customer locations.
• Offer expert engineering advice to ensure safe and compliant operations.
• Operate independently within a designated area.
• Establish and nurture robust customer relationships.
• Oversee a personal inspection schedule.
• Execute inspections in industrial, commercial, and construction settings.
• Work at heights and access various operational environments as necessary.
• Collaborate with experienced Engineer Surveyors and Team Leaders for support.
• Engage in continuous technical development, induction, and training.
• Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a mechanical engineering-related field.
• Hands-on engineering experience with lifts, cranes, materials handling equipment, lifting equipment, or similar mechanical machinery.
• Experience obtained in maintenance, repair, servicing, manufacturing, installation, testing, or inspection settings.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in using tablets, smartphones, and digital reporting tools.
• Enthusiastic about engineering and dedicated to upholding high safety and quality standards.
• Customer-oriented with the capability to develop strong professional relationships.
• Capable of working autonomously and managing your own workload and priorities effectively.
• A practical problem solver who can make informed decisions in diverse situations.
• Confident in communicating technical information clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Organized, self-motivated, and adaptable in a field-based setting.
• Able to fulfill the responsibilities of the role, including visiting customer sites and performing inspections in various work environments.
• Committed to continuously enhancing your knowledge and expertise in engineering inspection.
• Previous experience as an Engineer Surveyor.
• Familiarity with LOLER, PUWER, and related lifting equipment legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
• Experience conducting statutory inspections, thorough examinations, or compliance assessments.
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status, or actively pursuing professional registration.
• Experience with a wide range of lifting equipment, cranes, materials handling equipment, or other industrial machinery.
• Understanding of lifting operations, crane systems, passenger and goods lifts, hoists, or construction machinery.
• Responsible usage of Artificial Intelligence.
