Engineer III – Virtual Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, development, testing, analysis, and documentation of virtual desktop infrastructure software.

• Research, develop, test, analyze, and document Cisco UCS infrastructure technologies alongside VMware technologies.

• Provide support for virtual infrastructure, associated components, virtual desktop resources, and ensure availability.

• Offer guidance, mentorship, and training to less experienced engineers.

• Participate in an on-call support rotation for incidents, upgrades, patches, and project-related tasks.

• Create, develop, and manage projects; allocate resources; oversee incident distribution; and coordinate major incident responses.

• Track and manage budgets; oversee development plans; manage projects from inception to completion; requisition necessary equipment and supplies; and assist with staff scheduling.

• Document and submit knowledgebase content, maintain the team website, create process maps, develop frameworks and processes for problem management, as well as training materials.

• Foster positive working relationships with customers, team members, managers, and other departments.

• Prioritize and address customer needs based on severity levels and resolve service-related issues.

• Complete IT governance and IT project assignments to meet established milestones.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be remote and reside in Arizona.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or 4 years of relevant work experience (required).

• A minimum of 6 years of experience with Cisco UCS Infrastructure and VMware, including daily operations, planning, design, configuration, and implementation (required).

• Advanced proficiency in Windows Server and Desktop operating systems.

• 8 years of experience or knowledge in networking, server management (Windows & UNIX), and storage management (preferred).

• VMware Data Center Virtualization certification (required).

• Cisco Unified Computing System certification (preferred).

• Ability to participate in a support on-call rotation.

• Availability for day shifts, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
