Engineer II, Field Service

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Conduct installation, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of PacBio equipment at client sites.

• Ensure timely submission of service activity reports and expense documentation.

• Keep an accurate and dependable inventory of service spare parts.

• Collaborate closely with sales and field application specialists to meet customer expectations.

• Mentor and provide training to new and less experienced service engineers.

• Create and enhance operational procedures and processes.

• Contribute to the knowledge base promptly by sharing challenges and solutions with fellow Field Service Engineers.

• Provide feedback, reports, and analysis of field-related issues to product teams and service management.

• Draft and revise service documentation for alignment, replacement, and upgrade procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-4 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 1-3 years of experience with a Master's degree; or 0-2 years of experience with a PhD.

• A degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent Military or other relevant experience.

• At least two to five years of experience servicing or supporting complex electromechanical/chemical equipment.

• Knowledge in biochemistry, biology, and/or other life sciences.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Willingness to travel extensively.

• Proficient in computer software and hardware, including Windows and Linux operating systems, real-time processing systems, disk arrays, and Ethernet architecture.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to lift 40lbs above shoulder height.

• Ability to lift 75lbs from the ground for unpacking boxes.
