This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• The Engineer II, Controls will rapidly develop an understanding and practical knowledge of Veregy's Digital Service and Building Automation solutions.
• This role involves leveraging that knowledge to oversee services contracted with various clients.
• The services encompass regular monitoring and maintenance of BAS system performance, designing and installing BAS system upgrades, software service monitoring and maintenance, as well as energy analytics.
• The individual will ensure the timely and precise delivery of contracted services and maintain effective communication with customers.
• Responsibilities include overseeing engineering support, creating and managing project and service contract schedules, preparing cost estimates, engaging directly with customers, conducting periodic owner training sessions, reporting progress, managing contracts, and overseeing project budgets.
• Designs, programs, monitors, maintains, and optimizes building automation systems and graphical user interfaces.
• Regularly reports on service activities and progress.
• Engages in project development and cost estimation efforts.
• Addresses and resolves customer issues, occupant comfort complaints, or building automation problems promptly.
• Communicates with internal project resources (e.g., other Veregy departments) to confirm that contract expectations and execution standards are fulfilled.
• Manages contract budgets and tracks progress.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, or Software.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in building automation system design, implementation, and project management.
• At least 1 year of experience in building automation system project development or estimating.
• Experience with HVAC installation is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Niagara is required.
• Experience with Distech or Reliable Controls is a plus.
• Understanding of Veregy's services and processes is essential, which can be acquired through intellect, technical aptitude, and commitment to learning.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of various operating systems and software products (e.g., MS Office, etc.) is necessary.
• Ability to work independently and manage time and workload efficiently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in collaborating with other engineers or clients to systematically resolve complex issues.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from management and staff.
• Skills to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and negotiate priorities tactfully with end users.
• Capacity to work under deadline pressure and put in extra hours if required.
• Niagara Certification is necessary.
