Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and deliver clear, straightforward code that simplifies tasks for educators and enhances student results.

• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and senior engineering colleagues to ensure features are built in the cleanest and simplest way possible.

• Actively engage in and promote AI development practices in your daily tasks, assisting your colleagues in discovering methods to boost sprint velocity and code quality.

• Create and sustain features that function reliably at scale while maintaining the utmost security for the schools that depend on us.

• Contribute to a cohesive technical vision and foster a team culture centered on excellence, continuous learning, and agility.

• Participate actively in pull request reviews and support the future architecture of our systems, including aiding the transition of our monolithic systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience working on services using Ruby, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or PHP.

• Strong experience in building application services with MySQL or PostgreSQL, along with a solid understanding of relational databases beyond standard ORM usage.

• Familiarity with distributed systems and knowledge of managing and evolving monolithic architectures.

• Experience in deploying, monitoring, and managing services on cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS (Aurora, RDS, SQS).

• Proficient in building and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
