Engineer, AI Developer Platforms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Utilize AI coding tools within representative codebases to comprehend code, implement minor modifications, troubleshoot issues, create tests, and enhance documentation.

• Participate in systematic evaluations of AI coding tools across prevalent engineering workflows; record observations, outcomes, and limitations.

• Develop small prototypes, scripts, or reference examples that showcase practical AI-assisted development workflows.

• Assess AI-generated output through testing, code reviews, and established engineering practices; communicate quality, security, data handling, or reliability concerns to the team.

• Collaborate with engineers, product partners, and platform teams to collect feedback and enhance developer workflows.

• Assist in the maintenance of reusable prompts, repository guidance, workflow templates, and onboarding resources, and share practical insights with the team.

• Facilitate and conduct practical training and enablement sessions for development teams on approved AI-enabled development practices, including effective prompting, code validation, testing, secure usage, and human review.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.

• Practical experience in coding with at least one modern programming language, such as Java or JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Knowledge of debugging, source control, automated testing, and code review fundamentals.

• Experience with, or a keen interest in, AI coding assistants and a readiness to learn how to verify and enhance generated output.

• Capability to navigate unfamiliar codebases, adhere to established engineering standards, and document work clearly.
