This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of client engagements from start to finish: beginning with contract signing, through environment setup, control implementation, automated evidence pipelines, and transition to managed operations.
• Implement Coalfire’s reference architecture tailored to the agreed certification level and cloud platform, adjusting it to fit the client’s application and boundary.
• Lead the deployment of security controls and the automation processes that continuously validate them, which are essential for a modern FedRAMP certification.
• Collaborate with Coalfire’s engineering teams to integrate their capabilities (such as identity, monitoring, change management, and more) into your engagement.
• Oversee the build process through established quality gates, ensuring a smooth and measurable transition to operations—every in-scope control must be implemented, validated, and stable.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for the client: facilitate technical working sessions, manage milestones and risks, and maintain clear scope management.
• Record architectural decisions and integrate insights from each build into Coalfire’s standards.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant Information Technology field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Over 8 years of experience in cloud engineering or architecture, including more than 3 years in a leadership role for technical delivery to external clients.
• Proven experience in leading FedRAMP builds or authorizations, or substantial expertise in another regulated cloud environment (e.g., DoD impact levels, StateRAMP, PCI, HIPAA).
• Practical skills in infrastructure-as-code, identity and access management, logging and monitoring, and cloud networking on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong communication skills with clients, capable of articulating architectural decisions to engineers, project sponsors, or assessors.
• Good judgment regarding scope, risk, and escalation timing.
• Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient documentation skills, including the creation of technical diagrams and written descriptions.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, maintaining a professional attitude and demeanor.
• Critical thinking skills, with the capacity to balance security needs against mission requirements.
• Professional-level certification in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Competitive perks and benefits to support you and your family.
• Paid parental leave.
• Flexible time off.
• Certification and training reimbursement.
• Membership for digital mental health and wellbeing support.
• Comprehensive insurance options.
