This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and implement sustainable operational strategies for your client's real estate portfolio, collaborating with stakeholders to effectively execute programs and initiatives that align with client goals.
• Work collaboratively with site teams to develop and execute multi-year, site-specific energy reduction plans that encompass capital and operational expenditure recommendations.
• Prioritize strategies to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, including energy efficiency initiatives, renewable energy sourcing, and electrification tactics, in partnership with management, engineers, vendors, and strategic allies.
• Formulate and suggest procurement strategies aimed at achieving client objectives in a cost-effective manner.
• Conduct ASHRAE Level I and II energy audits, which involve interviewing site engineers, assessing building automation systems, examining HVAC equipment, and proposing energy conservation measures.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify resource efficiency projects (energy, carbon, water, and waste), develop business cases that explore potential rebates or incentives, oversee project approval by clients, and coordinate with relevant parties to ensure successful project delivery.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on sustainability metrics related to operations, including energy, water, and waste performance.
• Provide internal and external reports on sustainability initiatives and metrics, ensuring compliance reporting at local, state, and federal levels.
• Perform annual benchmarking of buildings using Energy Star, CBECS, or other relevant data sources to uncover trends and enhance sustainability performance.
• Create annual utility forecasts that encompass both consumption and costs.
• Through monthly forecasting and variance analysis, deliver timely and precise reports on consumption and expenditure to prevent unexpected costs.
• Evaluate utility rates and tariffs to spot opportunities for cost savings.
• Identify and communicate electric retail procurement possibilities arising from deregulation.
• Propose action plans as needed based on state or utility regulations.
• Develop energy and engineering tools that improve decision-making capabilities for business and project teams.
• Provide support, troubleshoot, and enhance existing tools and processes with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
• Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in fields such as engineering, environmental science, energy management, sustainability, or have equivalent practical experience.
• Possess a minimum of five years of experience in an engineering or analytical position related to building management, commercial real estate, energy services, consulting, or a similar field.
• Capable of performing energy savings calculations for HVAC, building envelope, lighting, and other enhancements using Excel and building simulation models.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive energy management programs.
• Skilled in benchmarking and analyzing utility data to foster sustainability efforts.
• Advanced proficiency in software applications such as MS Excel and PowerBI.
• Consistently exhibit strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrate accountability and proven project management capabilities (time, budget, resources).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and collaboratively in a global environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in creating presentation materials for clients and their stakeholders.
