This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to execute and lead technical tasks that support energy efficiency initiatives.
• Create measure packages, which include program-specific cost-effectiveness calculators, while documenting assumptions, data sources, and citations.
• Perform preliminary and final cost-effectiveness analyses using methodologies such as the utility cost test and total resource cost test.
• Oversee the creation of calculation tools and workpapers for new measures and delivery methods intended for clients and evaluators.
• Revise measures in response to changes in baseline performance, measure costs, savings, mandatory standards, and updates to energy codes.
• Establish yourself as a recognized subject matter expert in at least one engineering technology pertinent to the midstream program (e.g., commercial lighting, HVAC & controls, refrigeration, compressed air, agriculture).
• Conduct QA/QC of engineering deliverables and assess colleagues’ technical outputs, providing timely feedback.
• Examine filings, utility commission documents, and evaluator materials for technical accuracy and sound engineering principles; communicate findings and suggestions to engineering and program stakeholders.
• Assist with program and market intelligence analytics, which includes forecasting cost-effectiveness ratios and maintaining planning assumptions in program tools.
• Collaborate with evaluation staff on research initiatives, pilot projects, and evaluation strategies related to midstream measures.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety in all tasks and responsibilities.
• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or a related technical discipline) or an advanced degree, accompanied by 5–10+ years of cumulative experience in energy efficiency consulting, program implementation, or engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Exceptional technical and non-technical writing and communication skills; capable of presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with SQL, Power BI, or other data visualization and analysis tools is advantageous.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision on intricate technical projects while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Preference for candidates based in Oregon or the greater Western United States.
