Endpoint Protection Security Engineer

📋 Description

• Designing and deploying endpoint security solutions for both cloud and on-premise data centers.

• Installing, configuring, patching, and fine-tuning IDS/IPS signatures, as well as creating and modifying policies.

• Monitoring events and trends utilizing Kibana.

• Providing support to internal and external customers within a large enterprise setting.

• Troubleshooting a variety of IT security and connectivity challenges.

• Assisting fellow team members with troubleshooting and project initiatives.

• Managing hardware and software inventories.

• Collaborating with remote teams to install, maintain, and resolve issues related to security hardware.

• Administering applications operating on Linux and UNIX systems within virtualized and cloud environments.

• Participating in a rotating on-call schedule, occurring every 6-8 weeks for one week at a time.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 years of pertinent information technology experience.

• A B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, or an additional 3 to 5 years of relevant experience is necessary.

• More than 5 years of experience in supporting endpoint security tools.

• Demonstrated experience in configuring and administering one or more of the following: Endgame / Elastic Defend, Carbon Black / Bit9, FireEye HX, or Elastic Security.

• Strong command line proficiency with Linux or UNIX, including OS installation and configuration, security hardening, patching, and package upgrades.

• Comprehensive understanding of Windows and Linux/UNIX system events, and the ability to use specific event types to detect signs of compromise.

• At least 3 years of experience in threat identification and detection.

• Must possess strong command line skills with Linux or UNIX.

• US work authorization is required, along with the ability to pass a federal security background check to acquire a security badge.
