This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Offer expert guidance on matters related to employee relations, encompassing performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
β’ Address and resolve intricate and sensitive workplace challenges, including issues of harassment, discrimination, and whistleblower reports.
β’ Conduct intake processes, triage cases, and propose suitable resolution methods such as investigations, mediation, or management actions.
β’ Ensure uniform interpretation and implementation of policies, employment legislation, and organizational practices.
β’ Evaluate risks and provide equitable, consistent, and legally defensible recommendations.
β’ Collaborate with HR Business Partners on case strategies, risk evaluations, and decisions regarding escalation.
β’ Mentor leaders and HR partners in managing employee relations challenges and resolving conflicts within the workplace.
β’ Keep precise documentation and reporting of cases, ensuring adherence to legal and organizational standards.
β’ Recognize trends, emerging risks, and systemic issues, escalating findings to guide strategy and policy enhancements.
β’ Work closely with internal stakeholders, including HR, Legal, and Centres of Excellence, to maintain alignment and consistency across the enterprise.
β’ 5β7 years of progressive experience in employee relations or human resources.
β’ In-depth knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and best practices in employee relations.
β’ Proven capability to manage sensitive workplace matters, including investigations and fact-finding processes.
β’ Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment and the development of practical, legally sound recommendations.
β’ Exceptional advisory and influencing abilities, with a knack for effectively guiding leaders.
β’ Strong coaching skills to enhance leader effectiveness and accountability.
β’ Experience in matrixed or shared services environments involving multiple stakeholders.
β’ High degree of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in complex situations.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the creation of documentation and reports.
β’ Postsecondary education in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related field; CHRP/CHRL designation is an asset.
