This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of email operations and deliverability specialists, overseeing priorities, performance, and ongoing team development.

• Manage the administration, upkeep, and continual enhancement of email infrastructure, including MTAs, authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), DNS configurations, filtering systems, and overall platform reliability.

• Monitor platform health, deliverability metrics, sender reputation, and inbox placement, proactively addressing complex mail delivery and infrastructure challenges.

• Serve as the main point of contact for customer and internal mail-related escalations, collaborating cross-functionally with Support, Engineering, Security, and Account Management teams to ensure timely resolutions and root cause analyses.

• Lead incident response initiatives concerning platform outages or diminished delivery events while upholding clear escalation processes, SLAs, and communication standards.

• Ensure adherence to relevant email-related regulations and best practices, including CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, anti-spam measures, and acceptable email usage policies.

• Deliver operational reporting and strategic insights to the Director of Mail Infrastructure, while pinpointing opportunities for enhancing tools, automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging threats, and evolving best practices in email infrastructure, security, and deliverability.

• Assist with additional tasks or projects as needed to meet team and business objectives.


⛳️ Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in email operations, deliverability, or mail infrastructure environments.

• 1–2+ years of experience in team leadership or people management.

• Strong understanding of email protocols including SMTP, IMAP, POP3, and MIME.

• Practical experience with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC implementation and troubleshooting.

• Background in diagnosing and resolving complex mail delivery challenges within enterprise or SaaS settings.

• Familiarity with MTAs such as Postfix, Sendmail, or Exim.

• Experience managing escalations and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong operational mindset with the capability to balance technical troubleshooting and team leadership duties.

• Experience with DNS management related to email routing and authentication is a plus.

• Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana or Datadog is beneficial.

• Exposure to phishing prevention, spoofing protection, and email security best practices is preferred.

• Experience in high-volume or transactional email environments is highly valued.
