This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.
• Deliver targeted elementary course content in a virtual setting.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.
• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student mastery.
• Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities.
• Track student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notify administrators of performance issues.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Foster positive relationships with families and communicate effectively with students and parents/learning coaches.
• Assist parents and learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting concerns.
• Collaborate with educators to analyze student data and inform instructional decisions.
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid state teaching license.
• Elementary teaching certification; out-of-state certification must obtain Indiana reciprocity within 60 days of employment.
• Capability to pass a required background check.
• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours.
• Experience with the specified age group is preferred.
• Familiarity with supporting both adults and children in technology is preferred.
• Previous experience in online teaching or in a traditional classroom environment is preferred.
• Experience with online learning platforms is preferred.
• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.
• Willingness to receive regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and proficiency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
• Indiana residency is strongly preferred; residents of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, or Illinois may also be considered.
