Elementary Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Certified Teachers will manage instructional programs virtually from our office or your home office in Michigan.

• They will regularly consult with learning coaches and students via telephone, Internet, and various curriculum tools to ensure every child successfully completes their instructional program.

• Assist the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction;

• Complete grading, generate progress reports, and conduct parent conferences promptly;

• Maintain regular communication with parents, students, and other teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, score assessments, provide feedback on student work, recommend instructional approaches and strategies, monitor assignment completion, and coach on special projects;

• Acquire a general understanding of the entire program’s curriculum while possessing in-depth knowledge of the specific courses for which responsible;

• Review curriculum and create alternative methods for presenting lessons to enhance student comprehension (working directly with students and parents);

• Assist students and parents with alternative strategies and offer additional help with daily assignments and projects;

• Maintain regular communication with parents, students, and school staff through computer and telephone;

• Collaborate with other teachers to ensure all students progress successfully through the program, that parents have a central contact point, and that tasks are distributed among the teaching staff;

• Keep student records and data current, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance records, and logging all student and parent interactions;

• Work with other teachers, team members, academic interventionists/specialists, and additional staff to develop alternative enrichment activities and modifications to students’ programs to improve student understanding;

• Ensure that students and families receive appropriate communications, that students are making adequate progress, and that established goals are achieved;

• Coordinate with other teachers to plan social activities and relevant field trips for students;

• Manage regional field trips and strive to integrate these experiences into the curriculum;

• Create and implement virtual methods for fostering a “school community”;

• Participate in the organization and administration of State Testing, as directed;

• Engage in student recruiting sessions and other marketing initiatives requiring teacher representation;

• Attend field trips and other community events organized for families; and

• Perform other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be qualified and certified to teach the appropriate subject in Michigan.

• Residency in Michigan is required.

• Strong technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Highly organized and punctual.

• Focused on student and family needs.

• A high degree of flexibility is necessary.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated teamwork capabilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.

• Required travel and attendance at in-person events, including State Testing, throughout the school year as determined by the school, which may entail overnight travel.

• Availability for some occasional evening hours as needed to support families.

• Ability to work remotely, if required.

• Must have access to a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication.
