This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Delivers engaging and interactive learning experiences for students, both synchronously and asynchronously.
• Dedicated to customizing learning experiences for each student.
• Holds a strong belief in the capacity of all students to achieve success and meet elevated expectations.
• Differentiates instruction tailored to the varying levels of student mastery.
• Enhances course content in accordance with established policies and procedures, utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools under the supervision of the principal and coach.
• Maintains the grade book to ensure academic integrity, makes decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notifies administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.
• Prepares students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Recognizes the importance of building and sustaining positive relationships with families, ensuring timely communication and responsiveness to students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assists learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional challenges, as well as basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom setting, following academy policies and procedures.
• Travels as necessary (approximately once a month or about 20% of the time) for face-to-face professional development, student assessments, and as required by the school.
• Bachelor’s degree AND Active state teaching license AND Ability to pass the required background check.
• Experience working with the specified age group.
• Experience in supporting both adults and children with technology use.
• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) environment and/or in a traditional brick-and-mortar setting.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Capable of collaborating with other educators to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data, using this information to inform instructional decisions.
• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
• Willingness to embrace change and adapt to ensure outstanding student outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adjust to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Capable of maintaining teacher certification/professional development hours and staying current with K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
