Electrical Systems Commissioning Technician, Microgrid, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee technical aspects and management of commissioning and field engineering activities for all PowerSecure Inc. Distributed Infrastructure Systems.

• Serve as the pivotal link between the client, PowerSecure engineering, PowerSecure Service, and operational teams to ensure successful field vetting of our Distributed Infrastructure Systems.

• Establish clear processes and procedures focused on delivering high-quality, pre-defined efforts that align with client expectations, which will serve as the guiding principles for this role.

• Committed to a customer-centric approach by consistently meeting expectations and maintaining high-quality decision-making through work experience, systematic analysis, and engineering support to make informed and safe choices.

• Excel in problem solving by applying logic and proven methodologies to effectively address any issues that arise.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Over 6 years of experience in commercial or industrial settings working with generators, ATS, and/or switchgear.

• Required experience with PLC, generator controllers, and protective relays.

• Possession of a valid Driver’s License.

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

• Willingness and ability to travel overnight for extended periods as dictated by project needs (up to 75%-95%).

• Previous commissioning experience is advantageous.

• NFPA 70 Arc Flash Certification is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook email and calendars.

• Advanced knowledge of AC/DC Electrical Theory.
