This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Engage in planning sessions for project teamwork and may take on a leadership role.
• Potentially take on project engineering duties while ensuring adherence to financial and work objectives.
• Initiate designs for projects and assist in establishing design goals and systems. Execute electrical engineering systems design for building construction.
• Design systems for lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and/or telecommunications for clients in healthcare, education/higher education, and commercial sectors, in compliance with relevant codes.
• Create construction documents, including drawings and specifications. Mentor less experienced team members in the execution of these drawings. Specify electrical equipment.
• Conduct quality control assessments of engineering documents and layout systems concerning components and parts.
• Engage in value engineering discussions with the Architectural/Engineering team.
• Suggest enhancements related to reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and streamline production efforts.
• Review and annotate shop drawings and submittals. Address RFI’s and review change orders while preparing construction documents.
• Perform site visits to verify existing conditions and monitor construction progress. Attend and actively participate in construction meetings, with site visits often necessitating a physical walkthrough of the area.
• Preferred familiarity with operational technology systems, cyber-informed design principles, NIST SP 800-82, or considerations for critical infrastructure security.
• May undertake other related tasks as required.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering is mandatory.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience is required.
• EIT/FE certification is preferred.
• LEED accreditation is a plus.
• Must demonstrate independent thinking, analytical skills, and contribute to process development.
• Should possess practical knowledge and experience while continuing to acquire advanced knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are essential.
• Capable of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in engineering design software applications (e.g., Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools) is required.
