This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Assist in the design and development of high-voltage substation Protection & Control systems for both AIS and GIS substations.
• Create and modify P&C design drawings, which include single-line and three-line diagrams, DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and communication schematics.
• Support engineers in the assembly of engineering design packages and deliverables.
• Ensure that drawings and deliverables adhere to applicable industry standards such as IEEE, NERC, NEC, and NESC, along with client-specific requirements.
• Execute redlines, updates, and revisions to existing drawings based on engineering markups.
• Aid project teams by contributing to schedules, deliverables, and coordination efforts.
• Help in the development and organization of relay and control panel documentation.
• Engage in QA/QC reviews to verify the accuracy and completeness of design packages.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, SCADA, and field services, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Provide assistance for field activities such as site visits, FATs, and as-built documentation as required.
• Preferably holds an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in substation design, with a focus on Protection & Control systems.
• Experience in developing P&C drawings specifically for high-voltage substations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design software.
• Familiarity with substation components such as relays, batteries, chargers, control panels, and SCADA interfaces.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards, including IEEE, NEC, and NESC.
• Ability to interpret and incorporate engineering markups and redlines into finalized design drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting project deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
